What GPU Should I Upgrade To for Better Performance?

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and possibly my PSU as my current setup isn't cutting it anymore. Here's what I'm working with: I have an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 16GB RAM, an MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX motherboard, and a Corsair TX550M Gold 550W PSU. My monitor is a 27" MSI Optix 2560 x 1440 with 170 Hz and I'm currently using an Asus DUAL Radeon RX 580 8GB. Lately, I've been experiencing stuttering in games that used to run smoothly with high graphics settings. Sometimes my monitors even shut off and my PC crashes. I'm hoping for some budget-friendly upgrade suggestions!

Did these issues start after a Windows update? Sometimes the RX 580 drivers get iffy after changes.

Nope, this has been happening for a while, and I can't even update to Windows 11 because my PC doesn't meet the specs.

For a straightforward upgrade, try the 9060XT. It's super efficient and should work fine with your current 550W PSU since its power draw is really low. It's got 16GB of VRAM and offers excellent performance—more than double your RX 580. You should just need this single upgrade to get back to gaming smoothly!

Oh, that's great to hear! I was worried my PC was too outdated, especially with that GPU.

I have the same CPU too and added a bit more RAM. Honestly, the upgrade was worth it and I’m really happy with the 9060XT.

If you want to stick to a budget, consider the Asrock Pro 750W PSU; it's about $55, and the 850W version is just $10 more. For performance, you could sell your current RX 580 for around $50 and grab a 6600XT for about $150–175. If you're looking to spend a bit more, the 3060 Ti is roughly $200, or go for a 4070 or 7800 XT for about $400. Upgrading your GPU will definitely breathe new life into your rig!
