I'm working with a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 cooler in my Lian Li O11D Mini V2 case. Currently, I have three fans on the bottom, two on the front/side, and one in the rear, plus one top fan located just above and behind the cooler. I've come across some advice online suggesting that exhaust fans placed on top in front of air coolers might actually hinder their performance. Conversely, I've heard that my case has good airflow overall. Should I consider adding an extra top intake fan, or is that unnecessary for my setup?

A good setup would be to keep three fans on the bottom and two on the side as intakes, with one at the rear and potentially three on top for exhaust. If you're feeling adventurous, you could flip that top fan in front of the cooler to intake, but it's really up to your personal preference. Some people swear by it!
