I've been building PCs for about 15 years and recently upgraded my CPU and motherboard. Now, I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU. Currently, I have a 3060Ti, which has been working fine for my cozy, indie games. However, I notice some lag during VR games and big modern RPGs on higher settings. I was originally saving for a 5070Ti, but it's out of my budget now. The 9070XT is priced similarly to what the 5070Ti was a few months ago, but I've never used an AMD card. Should I go ahead and buy it now, or is it better to hold off and stick with my current GPU?

Honestly, if you're mostly gaming at 1080p, your 3060Ti should keep you covered for a bit longer. You might want to consider a used card as a temporary upgrade while saving for something newer later.
If your 3060Ti is serving you well and you aren't planning to dive into demanding games, you might not need to stress about upgrading. But if you're thinking ahead, maybe the 9070XT is worth it now since prices might just keep climbing.
That's true! It's like a balance between future-proofing and waiting for better options or prices.
Prices are likely going to rise for a while, so if you're eyeing the RX 9070 XT, it might be a good idea to grab it now. There's also the RX 9060 XT as a cheaper alternative if you're looking to save a bit.
I heard the 5060 Ti is even pricier now at around $540, which makes the 9060 XT seem like a much better choice.
As a fellow 3060Ti user, I can say it’s still solid for 1080p gaming. If you do want to upgrade, AMD’s 9070XT could be a great buy now since getting old stock from Nvidia is tricky and often overpriced. Plus, you might be able to resell your 3060Ti for a good chunk of money later.
That makes sense! I've seen prices for GPUs skyrocket lately, so maybe it's smart to buy while I can.
From my experience, waiting can sometimes be smart. I rushed to buy a 3070 during the chip shortage and ended up regretting it because the prices dropped later. If gaming's your focus, AMD has good options, and you'll generally see better value with last-gen cards.

I’ve never looked into used cards before. Where do you usually find them?
