I'm having an ongoing issue with my Dell laptop where both of the Shift keys stopped working about 2 years ago. Initially, I managed to get them to work again by pressing both simultaneously for about 10 seconds, but soon after, the problem returned. I've tried various fixes, including disabling Filter Keys and experimenting with PowerToys, but nothing has worked. Is this likely a hardware problem or is there something else I could try?

Wow, two years without working Shift keys? That sounds rough! It's likely your keyboard has a hardware issue. Definitely try an external keyboard to confirm before deciding on a replacement.
