I'm trying to set up asset sheets for equipment in our stock room that would help with quick reference. I'm thinking about including fields like name, asset tag number, serial number, quarantine release date, and a checkbox for disposal status. I just started a new job and the place really needs something like this, but I'm struggling to remember all the necessary fields that would be helpful. What do you all think?

For asset sheets, I recommend just focusing on the asset tags to keep it simple. I also use retirement stickers for any equipment that’s been retired, but usually, the official management tools handle most of the detailed notes.

It sounds like you’re looking for something that streamlines how you find equipment quickly. I totally get that, especially when you have stacks of laptops and post-its just falling off. It would help to have a clear setup that minimizes running back and forth between physical items and asset management software. Having a date or reason for any holds or quarantines right there on the equipment can really speed things up.

I’ve managed to use touchscreen Dell AIOs with SnipeIT for quick checks, which has worked out pretty well for us.
