A few weeks ago, I discovered that my Microsoft account, which I've had for over 10 years, was hacked without my knowledge. The hacker managed to hide all the notifications about password changes in spam and even removed my phone number from the account without any alerts. When I contacted Microsoft, they confirmed that unauthorized access had occurred but said they couldn't recover my account. I'm devastated because it contained all my important information, including my Minecraft account. I'm feeling overwhelmed, especially since I'm in my final year of school and dealing with stress. I'm looking for advice on how to possibly remove my bank details from the account and, even better, to recover my Minecraft account. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, if the hacker has changed all the security info, there's not much Microsoft can do to help you recover the account. It's a tough lesson, but account recovery relies heavily on proving ownership, and if that info has been updated by the hacker, they hold all the cards now. Your best bet might be to notify your bank directly if you're worried about any saved details. They can assist you with protecting your information.
It sounds like you might have run into some password management issues. Always make sure to use unique passwords for every account and enable two-factor authentication wherever possible. This keeps your accounts much safer. Just because it was a Microsoft account this time doesn't mean it can't happen elsewhere, too!
I do have unique passwords for everything and I use two-factor, but all the warning emails went to spam. They didn’t get into my other accounts, just this one!”

So, there's really no way to prove I own the account even if I have proof of purchases and a decade of usage? That’s so frustrating!
