I'm experiencing a really annoying issue with my Samsung Galaxy S21 not being detected when I connect it via USB to my PC. My setup includes an ASUS TUF Gaming B760 motherboard, an Intel Core i5-14600KF processor, and I'm running the latest version of Windows 11.
When I connect my S21 using both USB-C to C and USB-A to C cables, my computer briefly recognizes the phone and starts charging it. However, after a few seconds, it shows an error in Device Manager saying "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" and the phone stops charging. It never registers for MTP, DeX, or any similar functionalities, just keeps showing up as "Unknown USB Device" with a warning signal. I've tried multiple cables, different ports, and even different phones, but to no avail. Wireless options like Link to Windows work perfectly fine, but I need a wired connection.
I've already attempted several troubleshooting steps including updating drivers, enabling USB debugging, and more, but nothing seems to help. Has anyone faced this issue with Samsung phones on ASUS B760 motherboards? What settings in BIOS or drivers can I change to resolve this? Wireless isn't an option due to poor connection issues in my area. I'd appreciate any advice!

First off, make sure to check your phone's USB-C port for any debris that could be causing the connection issue. Sometimes, using something like a plastic dental pick can help you clean out any junk that might be stuck in there. Additionally, try doing a full shutdown of your PC—turn off the power supply for a few minutes to let everything reset.
When you mentioned trying multiple devices, did you mean different phones on the same PC or connecting your S21 to various other devices? If possible, try plugging your phone into another PC to see if the issue lies with your current setup instead.
I hear you; it does sound like it might be software-related, especially since you've tried almost everything else. If you can, check if any system updates are available that might solve USB connectivity issues. Sometimes, rolling back to a previous version of drivers can help too.

Thanks for the tips! I've attempted to clean the port but had to use tweezers since the dental pick didn't work. I got some debris out but it still isn't connecting. Also, I did try both the S21 and a Samsung A14 on my PC, and even tried another laptop with Windows 11, but I still get the same error. Might this be a software issue on Windows or One UI 7.0?
