Dealing with Input Lag Despite Upgrading Most of My PC

I've replaced nearly every component in my PC—everything from the graphics card to the power supply—but I'm still facing frustrating input lag, especially in fast-paced games like VALORANT and CS2. This lag really affects my gameplay since split-second reactions and precise movements are crucial for executing strategies like counter strafing. I initially thought my setup was fine, but after trying out other systems, I realized they felt much more responsive, even models with similar or lower specs. My PC's performance has been a problem ever since I first built it back in 2022, and despite changing almost every part including the GPU, CPU, PSU, and even upgrading my monitor, the issue continues. The RAM is the only component that hasn't been changed, though I did add another stick to increase it to 16GB and overclocked it. Can anyone shed some light on what might be causing this lag? Here's a quick rundown of what I've upgraded:
1. GPU: swapped out RX580 8GB
2. PSU: switched from a generic 700W to a Corsair CV 550
3. Storage: I've tried both SSD and HDD for games with no effect
4. CPU: upgraded from Ryzen 3 3200g to Ryzen 5 3600
5. Monitor: moved from a 60Hz to a 75Hz 1080p screen
6. Keyboard: using a mechanical blue switch keyboard
7. Motherboard: replaced with a newer but similar MSI board
8. RAM: changed from a single 8GB 2666MHz stick to dual-channel 16GB overclocked to 3200MHz
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to double-check your monitor. Even though it's a 75Hz display, input lag can still be an issue. Some monitors, regardless of refresh rate, can introduce extra latency. You should look up reviews or benchmarks for your model to see if there are any reports on input lag. Manufacturers do sometimes provide this info in the spec sheets too!

I didn’t think it was the monitor since I tested mouse clicks and those felt fine. But I guess I should check some benchmarks just in case.

Have you considered what mouse you’re using? Input devices can heavily affect your gaming experience. It’s not just about the PC specs; the type of mouse can introduce lag too, especially if it doesn’t have a good polling rate. Make sure you’re using a gaming mouse with a low response time!

Honestly, it sounds like you've got quite a few components that could be holding you back. Your CPU is several years old, and if you're using an integrated GPU, that's a big factor. Plus, the low refresh rate of your monitor combined with a keyboard that might not be the best quality could be contributing to the lag. You may want to consider all of these elements together rather than just focusing on the RAM or motherboard.
