How Can I Upgrade My Midrange PC from 2020 to Last Longer?

Hey everyone! I've been meaning to upgrade my gaming PC since I started using it as my work computer during the pandemic. The last build I did was back in early 2020 and, honestly, I'm feeling a bit lost on what to do next. With current market prices, building a new PC from scratch isn't realistic for me right now. I'm hoping to at least extend the life of my current setup since it's starting to struggle with anything beyond games from a few years ago. I'd love some suggestions! Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 3600X at 3.8 GHz, Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti with 6GB, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM (sorry, I had initially guessed the RAM specs, but I verified it now), and a 2TB SSD. I have a budget around $1000 CAD for retrofitting instead of building new. Any ideas to help me out?

Your best bet is to start with a new GPU; it'll make a significant impact. I would recommend checking out options based on your budget. You might also consider upgrading to a more powerful CPU, but that typically means a new motherboard as well. Just make sure your RAM is definitely DDR4, since that CPU won’t work with DDR3.

Thanks for the heads up on confirming the RAM! I definitely need to double-check that.
