Should I Trade My RTX 4070 for a 9070 XT?

I'm in the middle of building my PC and currently have an RTX 4070 Ventus 3X from my old setup. I'm planning to upgrade to a new motherboard and a nicer case. I'm considering trading my 4070 for a 9070 XT, but I'm unsure if it's worth it. The 9070 XT would cost me an extra $400-500 after the trade. Is the extra 16GB of VRAM worth it, or should I just stick with my 4070 for now? Alternatively, would I be better off putting that money towards a better CPU instead?

If it were a straight trade, I’d say go for it! The 9070 XT performs at around the level of the 5070 TI, and if you're paying a bit more, the performance boost might justify the cost. Even a slight premium could be worth it because you're looking at roughly a 40% increase in performance.

I've checked the market value of the 9070 XT here in Canada, and it's about $1000. I think I could get around $500-600 for my 4070 since it's in great shape, which means I'd be paying around $400-500 more. Do you think that's a good deal, or should I focus on getting a better CPU instead?
