Upgrading My GPU for the First Time—Need Recommendations!

I'm about to upgrade my PC for the first time, specifically a HP ProDesk 400 G6 MT. I plan to replace the GPU and PSU, but I'm having trouble finding a GPU that fits in the case. My budget is around $500. Can anyone help with suggestions? Also, my thermal paste is over 5 years old, so I'd love some recommendations for that too!

For thermal paste, I highly recommend Arctic MX-4 or Noctua NT-H1. Both are great performers and will help keep your GPU running cool. Just make sure to clean off the old stuff before applying!

Make sure to double-check the dimensions you provided! For a budget of $500, you should look for GPUs around the size of 5.7 x 2.7 inches. A GTX 1660 Super or RX 5600 XT might be great options that should fit well. Just be cautious with the PSU requirements, though!

Good call on checking the size! Also, if you can stretch your budget a little, the RTX 3050 is worth considering. Just ensure your PSU can handle the wattage!
