I've got an Acer R11 with an Intel Celeron N3060 CPU and 4GB of RAM, and I've been using it for about two years now. I'm looking to completely replace ChromeOS with a lightweight Linux distribution, as I want to do some programming and also customize it (ricing!). I would appreciate any recommendations that would work well with these specs. I'm not interested in dual OS setups, just a clean install.

You should consider installing lightweight Linux distributions like GalliumOS, Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Mint XFCE, or even Arch Linux. If you want a beginner-friendly option, enabling the built-in Linux development environment (Crostini) is a good start since it allows you to run Debian-based apps safely.

By the way, if you go with Crostini, here's a handy setup guide: Linux setup | ChromeOS.dev. It's super straightforward!
