Why Are Emails From Reputable Senders Getting Blocked by Microsoft?

I've been facing a frustrating issue with emails being blocked from reaching Outlook, Hotmail, and other Microsoft domains. I have a strong reputation with my IPs and my domains have been established for over a decade, yet I'm suddenly seeing 550 errors for thousands of emails. I've double-checked everything—DNS settings, SPF, and DMARC records all look good. I've also verified with third-party services managing our outgoing mail. Even contacted users directly, and many were missing important purchase orders because of these blocks. This situation has become critical since our business relies on emails being delivered, especially considering some customers have received emails regularly from us. I came across an article from Sendgrid that discusses these delivery issues. Has anyone had similar problems, and how are you handling it?

I've definitely seen this happen too! It seems like it might have cleared up recently, but it's been chaotic for many senders. It’s good to check the Outlook postmaster portal to see if your IP is listed there and submit a delisting request if it is. Microsoft’s filters can pick up on things that seem spammy, even for well-reputed IPs. Just give it some time...or check out their network data services for a clearer picture of your complaints and possible issues.

Right! I also read that checking your status there can help resolve these issues faster. Sometimes just being proactive in checking these could save a lot of headaches.

Make sure your reverse-DNS and DKIM setups are all correct, as these can easily trigger a block even when SPF and DMARC are fine. And if you're on a shared IP, it might be worth investing in a dedicated one while you sort this out. Keeping your mailing list clean will also reduce invalid bounces, which can be detrimental.

Honestly, the level of spam that comes from certain sources is why Microsoft takes such measures. But if you're getting slammed with blocks despite a good rep, don’t hesitate to open a ticket with their postmaster team with evidence of your setup. It might help get things unblocked faster, especially if something hasn't changed.

It's wild how Microsoft's filters work so inconsistently. I've had my reputable IPs blocked too, and it often feels like a black box. Usually, I just wait it out because fighting it can be a pain. They’ll tell you everything is fine but then suddenly release those blocks. All I know is it just adds to the frustration of dealing with their service.

I'm in the same boat! This has happened to us a couple of times recently without any changes on our end. Mail passes all the checks, yet Microsoft flags it. I've submitted tickets about this issue as well, and it’s often just a dead end. It's like they decide on some arbitrary thresholds! Has anyone had luck getting responses on these tickets? I just get generic replies.

Yes, I created a support ticket too, but all I got in return was that they couldn’t find anything wrong. It’s like they aren't even looking closely! Totally frustrating.
