Help! Mysterious Program Preventing Shutdown on Windows 11

I've noticed a strange program with a default Windows logo that doesn't have a name and isn't appearing in the Task Manager. This issue is coinciding with occasional command prompt windows popping up and closing right after I boot up. I'm worried that it might be malware. What should I do next to investigate and potentially resolve this?

If you think you might have malware, the first step is to run a thorough antivirus scan. It’s also a good idea to boot into Safe Mode to see if you can spot that suspicious program. Sometimes, this will help you identify and remove it more easily.

That Windows logo sounds odd! If it’s not in Task Manager, consider using utilities like Microsoft Sysinternals' Process Explorer. It has more detailed info about running processes, and you can even check suspicious ones against VirusTotal for any known issues.

Yes, exactly! Process Explorer can provide insights that Task Manager often misses. Just be cautious when using it.
