What Graphics Card Should I Pair with My i9-9900K for Gaming?

Hey everyone! I recently rediscovered an i9-9900K processor paired with 64GB of DDR4 RAM and an ASRock z390 Phantom Gaming ITX/AC motherboard that I had stored away for a build. Life got in the way, but now I'm ready to dive in! However, I've noticed that prices for components are pretty high right now. I'm curious if this CPU is still relevant for gaming today. I'm considering pairing it with a 5060 Ti 16GB. Would that setup work well together? Also, I plan to play games like Rainbow Six Siege, Marvel Rivals, and Warzone. I've got a PS5 for exclusives, just looking to enhance my gaming experience on PC. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The i9-9900K is still a solid choice for gaming! I recommend pairing it with a 5060 Ti or even considering something like a 9070 XT if budget allows. For resolutions, aim for a 1440p or 4K monitor to prevent CPU bottlenecking. It's not cutting-edge, but it performs well enough! Just keep an eye on your cooling solution since that CPU can get a bit hot, especially in a small ITX case.

Yeah, the 9900K is still perfectly fine for gaming and won't bottleneck those titles! A 5060 Ti should do the trick for 1080p and even for 1440p gaming. Just remember, cooling is key with that setup, so invest in a good tower cooler. Also, check your RAM speed settings in the BIOS after building; sometimes they can be quirky!

You'll be in good shape with that CPU; it's definitely better than what's in the PS5. Just make sure you pair it with a capable mid-range GPU like the 5060 Ti or, if you want a slightly cheaper option, go for the 9060 XT—it’s great for Warzone, too! And honestly, 64GB of RAM is overkill for gaming; selling 32GB and using the rest for your build could help fund other components.
