I'm a motion designer looking to build a PC for my career, but I'm not sure where to start. I'm planning to acquire the components piece by piece, and I'm currently focusing on choosing the right CPU. For anyone with experience in this field, can you share whether Intel or AMD is better? Also, if you have tips for assembling a complete system suitable for both 2D and 3D animation, I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance!

Intel CPUs usually offer better performance for productivity tasks, but AMD might provide more flexibility for upgrades later on. If upgradability isn't your top priority, Intel could be a solid choice!

I'm mainly focused on performance and productivity, so that sounds promising!

Start by figuring out your budget! A good rule is to allocate about 30-50% of it to the GPU. Once that's settled, you can balance the remaining on CPU, RAM, and storage. Also, don't forget about peripherals! Oh, and if you haven't checked out Davinci Resolve by Blackmagic Design, it's definitely worth a look.

I'm looking to get an RTX 4090, but I'm still unsure about the processor side. Any suggestions?

It really depends on what software you're using for your projects! I recommend checking out Puget Systems for benchmarks that are relevant to your tools.
