Looking for Budget-Friendly Upgrade Advice for an Old Computer

I'm trying to upgrade my really old computer on a budget, but I want something that can last me quite a while since I'll likely wait another 9 years before I upgrade again. Currently, my specs are an i7-7700, 32GB of DDR4 2400 MHz RAM, and a GTX 1080. What would you recommend I focus on for this upgrade? Thanks for any tips!

Finding a budget-friendly yet future-proof upgrade is tough right now. A significant upgrade might be hard to pull off without breaking the bank, especially if you’re aiming to keep it for 9 years. You might have to balance between performance and your wallet. Consider upgrading key components and maybe think about waiting for price drops if you can.

Exactly! I’d say focus on parts that will give you the best bang for your buck, but it might be tricky to juggle cheap and longevity.

What’s your budget looking like? Are you hoping to upgrade individual components or planning a whole new setup? It could change the options available to you based on what you want to replace.

I'm mainly looking for advice on upgrading the parts I mentioned rather than a whole new PC, but my budget fluctuates a bit with exchange rates.
