I'm having an issue with several HPE Gen10 DL380 servers where the hard drive indicator lights are randomly switching from green to amber. We've contacted HPE support and reviewed numerous logs, as well as checked ILO for any faults, but we still haven't pinpointed the cause. Ideally, we want all indicators to be green and only change to amber when there's a real problem. Has anyone dealt with this situation before? By the way, these servers are set up for a Cohesity cluster.

Have you looked into the ADU logs? They can show the last failure, which sometimes isn't noted anywhere else. Also, pay attention to any read or write errors that might show up in those logs.
From my experience with these servers, I've encountered issues with SCSI backplane and power supply backplane failures frequently. It's frustrating, but I've had to resort to eBay for replacement parts more than once because my company was on a tight budget.
Don't forget to check the SMART data for each physical disk. It can provide some insight into what might be going wrong.
Make sure your firmware is completely up-to-date. I recall there being a customer advisory related to SSDs and firmware updates that caused some weird behavior.
