Hey folks, I'm reaching out for some help with a frustrating issue I'm having with my PC. It started acting up a while back with games crashing, so I decided to disassemble, clean, and reassemble it. After that, things really got complicated. Every time I try to add an extra 8GB of 3200MHz RAM to my existing 8GB, my PC freezes after a while, and the only way I can turn it off is by hitting the power button. When I remove the additional RAM, everything runs smoothly. I've always had 16GB total installed, and I've tested each RAM stick independently to ensure they're not faulty. I've even replaced the CMOS battery to no avail. This problem happens no matter how I configure the RAM. I'm really not sure what's going on and would appreciate any insights!

Are the RAM sticks from the same kit or different ones? It’s crucial they match because sometimes different sticks can cause compatibility issues.
If you're using the A2 and B2 slots on your motherboard, try switching them to A1 and B1. Sometimes changing configurations can make a world of difference!
It's still possible you've got a faulty RAM stick or slot. What are the specs of your system? Are you overclocking anything? And when you cleaned it, did you also check the CPU? That can sometimes lead to issues if not seated correctly.
Just a quick question: Are the two RAM sticks exactly the same model? If they're mismatched, one might not be playing nice with the other due to slight differences, even if they appear identical. Check your BIOS settings and consider capping the speed to see if that helps.
Sometimes different RAM controllers just don't work well together, even if they're from the same kit. It could also be your OS causing issues—have you thought about trying a Linux distro just to see if it's a software problem or a hardware one?
