I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 2600X with a couple of monitors, one at 1080p 165Hz for gaming and the other at 1440p 60Hz for browsing and watching TV. I just got a new GPU, a 6700XT, but I'm considering upgrading my CPU for better gaming performance in titles like World of Warcraft, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and Arc Raiders. I want to know if it's necessary to upgrade from my current CPU, and if I should choose the 5600X, 5700X, or 5800X. Budget-wise, I'm looking to spend between $200-$215, and I'm okay with buying used. I want to ensure I'm future-proofing my setup for at least the next few years, aiming for 1080p at 120+ frames, and I'm planning to overclock since I have liquid cooling. Any advice?

If you're set on a CPU upgrade, I'd go with the 5700X. It offers a good balance of performance and future-proofing without getting into the pricier 5800X territory. Plus, with your dual monitor setup, the extra cores could help with multitasking while gaming. Just keep an eye out for local deals since prices can vary widely.

Why do you think the 5700X is the best choice?
