Help! My PC Keeps Crashing While Gaming

I've recently reset my PC, and now it's crashing hard whenever I try to game. Here are my specs:
- **Case**: Hyte y60
- **RAM**: Corsair VENGEANCE RGB 32GB (2x16GB) White 6000MHz DDR5
- **CPU**: AMD RYZEN™ 7 7700X
- **GPU**: PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 XTX Hellhound OC 24GB White
- **SSD**: Kingston KC3000 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD
- **HDD**: Seagate ST4000DM004 4TB BarraCuda 3.5" SATA3
- **Motherboard**: ASRock B650E Steel Legend WiFi
- **OS**: Windows 11 Home

Ever since the reset about two weeks ago, I haven't been able to play any games without my PC crashing. The only temporary fix I've found is to manually adjust the graphics settings with custom profiles in AMD Adrenalin, which is super frustrating since I never had to do that before. I've also noticed that my GPU isn't handling the load as it should—my GPU temperature is about 40°C, but my CPU is hitting around 80°C. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It might be an issue with your RAM. I've had two friends whose RAM died within the last couple of years, and it caused similar crashing problems. You can test it using memtest86 or memtest86+, which are great for diagnosing RAM issues.

Right? It’s odd that his RAM would die right after a reset, but it’s worth checking!

I’d recommend running DDU to remove your graphics drivers completely, then do a clean install of the latest drivers. Also, turn off any overclocking settings you have. If you have Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) enabled, try disabling it to see if that helps—you can turn it back on later if needed!

What does PBO stand for? I’ve heard it mentioned before, but I’m not sure what it means.

When you say you reset your PC, did you just restart it, or did you wipe everything and start from scratch? Also, any other major changes after the reset? Just trying to see if there’s something else that might be causing the problem.

I started fresh—I wiped everything. The only difference now is that I’m using Firefox instead of Chrome.

First off, check your PSU—how powerful is it, and how is your GPU connected? You’ll want to make sure your components are getting enough power to operate correctly. If you're using an 850W SilverStone PSU, that should be more than enough. Just double-check the connections, especially since your GPU is hooked up via DisplayPort.

Yeah, I agree! Sometimes just ensuring all connections are solid can solve weird issues.

From what you've described, constantly needing to adjust settings to avoid crashing points either to the GPU being problematic or some driver issues. Make sure everything is up to date and maybe try running a few diagnostics to see if something's malfunctioning.
