Looking for Feedback on My 240Hz 1440p Gaming PC Build

Hey folks, I've been using a prebuilt system for a long time now (it has an RTX 2070 Super and an i7-8700K), and with my birthday just around the corner, I'm excited to build my own PC from scratch for the first time! I'll be gaming on a 240Hz monitor, and I'm torn between sticking with 1080p or upgrading to 1440p. My goal is to hit around 240 FPS, with at least 144 FPS as a minimum in most games. I don't really use ray tracing and I don't mind utilizing DLSS when necessary. I'm aiming to future-proof this build for the next five years or more.

I'm not into competitive shooters but enjoy AAA and story-driven games like Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Elden Ring, and a few upcoming titles like the new Resident Evil and Forza Horizon.

Here are my main questions:

- Is this build powerful enough to support 240Hz gaming, especially at 1440p?
- Are the components I've chosen of good quality and value?
- Is anything in the build overkill or not enough for what I'm aiming for?

I've done quite a bit of research but I still feel a bit overwhelmed, so I'd really appreciate any feedback before I hit that 'buy' button. Here's my PCPartPicker list if you want to check it out!

Consider getting a 2K OLED display with a refresh rate of 120-165Hz instead. Aiming for 240Hz at 1440p may not be worth it since reaching 240 FPS in most AAA titles is unlikely.

How do you feel about using frame generation? It can help boost FPS, but it also adds input lag. Just a heads-up since it's crucial for a smooth gaming experience!

Achieving consistent 240Hz at 1440p in AAA titles might be a stretch, even with top-tier hardware. With your current setup, you might realistically see around 120-140 FPS. It seems like a solid build overall, but keep in mind that those high refresh rates can be hard to consistently hit in demanding games.
