I recently upgraded my graphics card from a 4070 to an ASUS Prime 5080 and also installed a new 1200-watt power supply for future improvements. My setup includes an i7 13th gen processor and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. After everything was installed and the drivers reset, I expected to see a significant frame rate increase, but some games seem to run worse than with the 4070. Am I missing something, or do I need to upgrade my CPU to get the performance boost I was hoping for?

This might sound familiar, but Nvidia's software often adjusts your game settings for you, which can result in lower performance. For example, I once found mine set to 4k while my monitor is only 1440p. Make sure that's not happening here!
Yeah, I turned it off too; it can be pretty glitchy.
Which games are you currently playing, and at what resolution? Are your in-game settings optimized? Also, what kind of RAM do you have?
I'm playing 'Arc Raiders', 'Marathon', and 'Resident Evil'. I usually play at 2304x1440p but switch to 2560x1440p depending on the game. I've got A-DATA Tech RAM running at 4800 MHz.
What resolution are you using, and have you recorded any benchmarks for the games you've tested? That could help narrow down the issue.
I'm running 1440p. I did a benchmark with Time Spy, where I scored almost 27k.
Make sure you're checking your in-game graphics settings! Sometimes when you upgrade your GPU, the settings get adjusted automatically. Are you running the same options as before? If you're not, that might explain the low frame rates.
Yes, I've confirmed that all my settings are identical.
Did you do a clean install of your drivers after the upgrade? Sometimes that can make a world of difference.
Yes, I used DDU to completely clean out the old drivers.

Haha, that's ridiculous! I stopped using that app a while ago.
