I recently switched to Linux Mint XFCE, installed Steam, and tried playing Combat Master, but my FPS plummeted from around 90 to just 20. Can anyone suggest what might be going wrong?

If you're not sharing your hardware details, it makes it tough for anyone to give you meaningful feedback. Please make sure to include that information!

I personally have a 2080ti and enjoy smoother frames while gaming on Linux. Sometimes the setup can just be finicky, so don't lose hope!

This could really be a detail issue. If you provide all your system specs and any error messages, it’ll be easier for us to help you out. Let’s get those details!

What hardware are you using? Knowing the specs can really help us figure out why your gaming experience is suffering. Also, have you installed the official nVidia drivers yet?

It sounds like you might have an nVidia GPU but haven't installed the proper nVidia drivers. Instead, you could just be using a generic driver, which often leads to significant performance drops while gaming. Make sure to check that.

Yeah, that's a pretty common mistake for those just starting with Linux. It's definitely worth asking for help before making broad claims about performance differences between Windows and Linux.
