Is the Microcenter 3-for-1 Deal a Good Upgrade Option?

I'm currently running a Ryzen 7 3700x with DDR4 RAM, a B550 motherboard, and a 4060 Ti. I was planning to upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 5 5800x 3D for about $250, but then I found a deal at Microcenter. They have a 3-for-1 offer that includes a B650 motherboard, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a Ryzen 7700x for $500. I'm okay spending an extra $200 for DDR5 and the new CPU, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. Should I go for the 5800x3D for about $250 or the Microcenter deal for $500?

Getting a 5800x3D for $250 is a fantastic deal since they usually sell for around $500 on eBay. However, if you're thinking about future-proofing, jumping to AM5 and DDR5 with the 7700x is a smart move. It’ll set you up for upgrades down the line. Plus, the 7700x offers solid performance for gaming and multitasking.

I feel ya! I keep hovering over the 'Add to Cart' button too. It’s a solid offer, and getting all of that for $500 is quite reasonable, especially with RAM prices these days.

Yes, definitely go for the Microcenter deal! If you want a long-lasting system with potential for upgrades, the 7700X paired with DDR5 will serve you well for years. The 5800X3D is great but uses older tech.

Go for the Microcenter deal. And hey, where can I find a 5800x3D for $250? I'm interested as I need one for my current setup!

Absolutely worth it! You're investing in a modern platform that supports future CPUs. The prices of RAM are really unpredictable right now, so getting 32GB of DDR5 included in that deal seems like a steal. What RAM do you currently have?
