How long should I wait to charge my phone after dropping it in water?

Hey folks! So, I accidentally dropped my iPhone 15 in a puddle of water. I used a video that helps get water out of devices, but I'm not sure how long I should wait before charging it again. My phone is rated slightly waterproof, and it seems fine—no muffled sounds or glitches. Just being cautious here! Thanks for any tips!

If you're worried about water inside, you might want to throw it in a box with silica gel for a few days to help absorb any moisture. But if you've already got it pretty dry, it should be fine too!

Just make sure the charging port is completely dry before plugging it in. Better safe than sorry!

If it's the iPhone 15, waiting about an hour should be fine. Just remove any case you have on it when charging. Most new phones are built to handle some water exposure.

Don't stress if it shows a moisture alert when you plug it in. It might just need more time to dry out!

Your iPhone 15 has an IP68 rating, so it's designed to handle being in water for a bit—up to 20 feet deep for 30 minutes! A puddle shouldn't be a major issue. Just give it a couple of hours to dry out completely before charging it.
