Is It Safe to Use a Higher Wattage Adapter for My Acer Nitro 5?

I'm looking to save some money on a new battery adapter for my Acer Nitro 5. My original charger is rated at 230W and 11.8A, but I found a cheaper one that's 100W with a 5A higher rating. I'm concerned about whether this could harm my laptop in the long run. Will using this new adapter cause any damage either short-term or long-term?

Just to clarify, are you asking about the charger for your laptop?

Yes, it's the one that plugs into my laptop.

Definitely be cautious! Using cheap chargers can damage your laptop because they might not adjust the output correctly. A quality charger adapts automatically to what your laptop needs, so be wary of lower quality alternatives.

When choosing a charger, focus on matching the voltage from your original charger and make sure the power meets or exceeds the requirements. Also, check that the polarity is correct and that it fits into your laptop. If you get those right, you should be good to go!
