I'm playing DCS World on my HP Victus 15 with an Intel i5 processor. Currently, I average about 50 FPS on high graphics settings and 90 FPS on medium. I'm considering getting a new gaming monitor. Would this help increase my FPS or improve my overall gaming experience?

If the resolution of your new monitor is the same as your laptop's (like 1080p), you probably won't notice any difference in performance. However, if you go for a higher resolution, like 1440p or 4K, that'll definitely put more strain on your laptop. Just remember that your laptop's CPU and GPU are what ultimately determine your FPS.
A new external monitor might have a higher resolution or refresh rate than your laptop's built-in display, which could actually lower your FPS in games. If you get a monitor with a higher resolution than your laptop's, the laptop will struggle more, and you might see a decrease in performance rather than an increase.
In general, a monitor won't boost your FPS or enhance graphics. Your laptop's specs are what's limiting that. If you connect a monitor, your laptop may even see slightly lower FPS because it'll be rendering the game and a desktop at the same time. Just don’t expect to take full advantage of a high-refresh-rate monitor with the FPS you’re currently getting in DCS.
