My PC Randomly Fails to Turn On – Any Ideas?

I've been having a really annoying problem with my PC for the last four months. Sometimes, it just won't turn on at all. I've owned it for about 15 months, and after waiting hours and reseating the cables and RAM modules, it finally starts up again – but only when it feels like it.

A while back, it completely stopped turning on, so I took it to a repair shop where they cleaned it thoroughly and replaced the thermal paste, saying everything looked good hardware-wise. The fix worked for about a month, but now the issue is back. It seems to happen every 4 to 5 days, especially after the PC has been turned off for a longer period.

I've already ruled out problems with the power supply and RAM, so I'm beginning to think it could be the motherboard or CPU at fault. Has anyone had similar issues with their setups? Here are my specs:

- Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M D3HP
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 8600G
- RAM: 32GB Kingston DDR5
- GPU: AMD Radeon 760M (Integrated)

I appreciate any advice!

I had a similar issue before, and it turned out to be my case too! Just keep that in mind. By the way, what's your PSU? That could also be a factor.

I don’t think it’s the case based on what I’ve researched; I suspect it might be the motherboard capacitors bulging. But I appreciate the suggestion!

Have you checked if your PC case might be causing this? Sometimes a faulty power button can mess things up. Try using a screwdriver to touch the two power pins on the motherboard directly; if it turns on that way, your case is likely the problem.
