Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out what kind of HDMI splitter I need for my setup. I have a broken screen on my laptop (an HP Essential 15.6" FHD with Intel Core 5), and I've been using an external monitor to work with it. I want to connect my Nintendo Switch to my Elgato HD60 X capture card and then link that to my laptop. Since my laptop screen is broken, I'm wondering if I should use a 2-out-1-in splitter or a 2-in-1-out splitter to manage the connections between these devices. Any advice would be super helpful!

It sounds like you're overthinking the setup a bit! From what you've described, you don't actually need a splitter at all. Just connect your Nintendo Switch to the capture card via HDMI. Then, connect the capture card to your laptop using another HDMI cable. Since you're using an external monitor for your laptop, just plug that into the laptop’s HDMI port. That should allow you to see everything on the monitor without needing any extra devices!
That makes sense! So it's a direct connection rather than splitting the signals. Thanks for breaking it down.
