Hey everyone! I'm diving into my first-ever PC build and could really use your feedback on the specs I've chosen. Here's the link to my spec list. I've been holding off on upgrading for way too long, and my current setup is ancient—my CPU and GPU are older than my 9-year-old brother! Instead of piecemeal upgrades, I feel it's time to build from scratch.
I have minimal experience here, just enough to help out with my old PC, and I've been doing my homework through YouTube and articles to get a grasp on this process.
The main games I play are FPS titles like Valorant, CS:GO, Call of Duty, and Overwatch, but I also want to dive into single-player games like Resident Evil and Stray after this upgrade. My goals for this build are gaming, university work, and some music media projects.
Now for my questions about the specs:
1. Will this PC be good for the games I currently play and those I want to explore?
2. I tend to use my devices until they literally die—will this build last without major upgrades?
3. Are there any parts that could clash or bottleneck each other?
4. I'm debating between GPUs like the 5060 Ti or the 9070. What do you think?
5. For the CPU, I was considering the Ryzen 9 9900 but wondering if the Ryzen 7 would suffice. Is there a better alternative?
6. With RAM prices skyrocketing, I'm leaning towards 16GB but might consider 32GB if it's worth it. What's your advice?
I'm all in for a massive upgrade from my current junker, so any insights you have would be invaluable! I'm trying to keep my budget at around $2,500, but I'm flexible up to $3,000 CAD if necessary. Thanks a lot!

Your build looks solid overall, but I think you're spending a bit too much on certain parts. It might be worth checking out some deals on less popular brands to save a buck or two. For example, the RAM and storage might be cheaper elsewhere. If you don’t have a Micro Center nearby, check Amazon for good deals on your CPU and motherboard combo. You could save a good chunk there!
While your build should deliver decent gaming performance, I noticed you're overpaying for several components. For your GPU, the 9070 is a great choice and offers strong performance. For your CPU, consider the Ryzen 7 7800X3D instead of the 9900. It has excellent gaming performance and is cheaper. You might end up saving around $500 by adjusting a few selections—here’s a sample of a more cost-effective list I made.
Thanks for breaking it down! Your suggestions are super helpful, and I’ll definitely look into the 7800X3D. Might just save me a lot!

Yeah, I hear you! I'm also looking at Newegg for some bundles to see if I can save cash. Plus, I'll check local shops for better prices; I've noticed online is often pricier. Thanks for the heads up!
