Is it Safe to Reset My Laptop Without a Backup?

I have a laptop that doesn't have a screen right now—I disconnected the screen and am using a second monitor instead. The laptop is full of storage and running really slow, so I'm thinking about resetting it. The only problem is, I don't have a backup for my files at the moment. Will it be safe to reset it as is?

I advise against using the built-in factory reset option. It's known to cause issues and doesn't usually work as expected. A clean install is usually the better way to go if you're trying to wipe and reset your laptop properly.

I've never had an issue with the factory reset myself, but if you want to know about alternatives, you could check out bootable USB options or recovery media for a clean install!

It should be fine to reset your laptop, especially since you're primarily using it for streaming YouTube and not for demanding tasks. Just keep in mind that without a backup, you might lose some data, so proceed with caution!
