I'm having trouble with my 2020 MacBook Air. When I double-click on apps in folders, I see the animation of the app trying to open, but it just doesn't work. I end up having to drag the app from the folder to the terminal to launch it, which is really frustrating. This issue started recently after 5 years of using my first Apple product. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yeah, that's pretty annoying! If you haven't already, try resetting the PRAM or SMC on your MacBook. These settings sometimes get corrupted and can cause strange behavior like this. If that doesn’t work, reinstalling the problematic apps might help too.
I had a similar issue a while back. It turned out that one of the apps was interfering with the system processes. Did you install any new applications or updates recently? Consider checking your Activity Monitor for any apps that might be using too much CPU or memory.
It sounds like a frustrating issue! Just to clarify, are you saying that while the app visually seems to start, it doesn’t actually open? Have you tried restarting your Mac or checking for any software updates? Sometimes, issues like this can be resolved with a quick reboot or installing the latest updates. Also, what specific apps are causing this problem?
