Looking for Recommendations for a Logitech G604 Mouse Replacement

I've been using a Logitech G604 for about five years now, but it's starting to show its age. The left click has developed a double-click issue, the scroll wheel doesn't spin freely, and the rubberized parts are deteriorating. I really like the design of the G604, although I've always found Logitech's software somewhat lacking. I'm not sure if they still make the G604 since I can't find it on their site, so I'm hoping to find some recommendations for similar mice.

Here's what I'm looking for:
- At least as many buttons with a similar setup (left/right click, scroll wheel, two volume buttons next to the right click, and 6 thumb buttons on the right). I'm more focused on the button count than the exact arrangement, as long as it's relatively ergonomic.
- Preferably wireless, but that's flexible.
- I liked the feature where the scroll wheel could switch between clicky and free-spin, so that would be a nice bonus, but not essential.
- Good customization software is a must.
- As for cost, I'd ideally like something not significantly more expensive than the G604, which I originally bought for $70, though I've seen it going for around $300 lately.
- Lastly, I want to avoid anything made by Razer.

Thanks for any suggestions!

You might want to check out the Razer Naga V2 PRO. It has a customizable side panel where you can switch between 9, 6, or even just 2 side buttons. The mouse wheel can also toggle between clicky and free spin, similar to what you like about the G604. Otherwise, Corsair and SteelSeries also have mice with 9 side buttons and a regular mouse wheel if that interests you.

Welcome to the search for the G604 upgrade club! I tried over 20 mice, and the closest match for me was the Razer Basilisk V3 X Hyperspeed. I know you’d prefer to avoid Razer, but it’s really one of the best options out there in terms of design, even though you’ll lose a couple of buttons. Just watch out for fakes if you go for another G604; I heard 90% of what's available online can be counterfeit!

I understand your struggle! I've been through the same process with my old G700s. I ended up just haunting eBay to find more of them because switching mice can be a huge hassle. They have a learning curve and bad muscle memory with a new device. Fingers crossed yours lasts a good while!

Yeah, nostalgia definitely plays a big part! If my G604 fails, I might be forced into switching over.

Your search might be tricky since finding a mouse with 6 side buttons and a free-wheeling scroll wheel is rare. Logitech and a few Keychron models are your best bet for that feature combo. If you're okay with fewer side buttons, the Logitech G502 has a similar feel and features, but sacrifices some of the side controls.

That's a bummer! I’d be willing to compromise on the scroll wheel for more buttons, though.

I used to use a Corsair Darkstar, which had a good array of side buttons and didn’t have the oversized buttons you see on some gaming mice. My issue was with the scroll wheel acting up after a while, so hopefully you have better luck! Another option is the ROG Spatha X, although it is quite heavy and I haven’t tried it myself.
