I recently lost my wallet, which has an AirTag attached to it. I don't usually carry my wallet, so it took me a while to notice it was missing. When I finally checked the Find My app on my iPhone, it showed my wallet was near a UPS parking lot just 5 minutes from my home. This is also where I typically return Amazon packages.
The app keeps updating the AirTag's location within a small area of the UPS lot, but when I try to connect, it doesn't work. I even shared the AirTag with a friend to see if it would connect for him, but that didn't work either. It's been two days of searching, and I still can't find my wallet or the AirTag. Any ideas on why it's acting up or suggestions on how I can locate it? Thankfully, no one has used my cards, so I'm hopeful it's not in someone's possession. Also, any recommendations for other forums where I could seek help would be great!

Have you checked the trash cans around the area where the AirTag is showing? Sometimes lost items end up in garbage bins by accident, so it's worth a look.
It sounds like your AirTag may be struggling with a bad signal or interference from the surroundings. Sometimes, if it's under something or there's a lot of interference like trees or nearby buildings, it can throw off the location. It might even be located in a dumpster or a trash bin nearby since metal can block radio signals, making it tough for your phone to connect.
Just a heads up, AirTags actually don't have GPS or cellular capabilities, just Bluetooth. If there aren't any iPhones nearby, they won't be able to help track it down at all.
Did you check with the people at the UPS store to see if anyone turned in a wallet? If someone found it, they might have left it there. It’s possible your wallet is long gone, and maybe someone tossed the AirTag out.
I already asked at the UPS store, and unfortunately, nobody turned in a wallet.

I tried looking around the massive trash bin there, even held my phone up high, but didn't get any signal or connection.
