Hey everyone, I just got a prebuilt gaming PC and it's been a wild ride so far. I've only had it for a day and I'm already facing some issues. I'm new to the PC gaming world, having spent most of my time on consoles, so bear with me. My PC randomly crashes while gaming, whether I'm playing the intense Squad or even a smaller game like Forewarned.
I've made sure that my DisplayPort is connected to the graphics card, I've checked the NVIDIA app, and even reinstalled the drivers—not to mention Windows is all up to date.
The frustrating part is that during gameplay, the game freezes for about 10 seconds, I can't move the mouse, and then the screen goes black, followed by a restart with no error messages. I have also looked into my power supply, which is a 750W, and everything seems fine there.
I'm a bit hesitant to dive into the BIOS settings since I'm not super knowledgeable about them, so any advice on fixing this would be greatly appreciated. My setup is solid enough:
- GeForce RTX 5070
- AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D
- Kingston Fury Beast 2x8GB 5600MHz
- Good cooling from Cooler Master
- Asus B650E motherboard
Any thoughts on what might be going on? Thanks in advance!

First off, check if your Nvidia drivers are up to date. If they are, try using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to uninstall the current drivers and then install a slightly older version. There have been some issues with the latest releases that could be causing your crashes.
Another thing to consider is that your AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D only supports a max RAM speed of 5200MHz. It looks like your RAM is overclocked at 5600MHz, which can lead to instability and crashes. You might want to downclock it or look into enabling XMP profiles to stabilize your setup.
Got it! Any tips on how to safely downclock and still get the best performance possible?

I think I have the latest version—something like 'Arc Raiders prepared'—but I did reinstall it just in case. DDU is a program, right? Any specific version I should look for?
