How to Migrate from Network Solutions to Office 365 and WordPress?

I'm trying to handle a website and email migration for my small company, which has seven email addresses currently hosted on Network Solutions. We're moving to a new website hosted on WordPress and I want to migrate our emails to Office 365 during this transition. I'm not a sysadmin and can't afford to hire one, so I'm attempting this myself. What I need help with is the best order of operations for this process. Should I back up the POP3 emails first, set up the Office 365 IMAP emails, and then change the MX records? Or should I migrate the website first? Any insights would be appreciated!

I recommend just using Office 365 directly and importing your emails from the old POP3 instead of worrying about setting up IMAP. It's way simpler!

Totally agree! Avoid IMAP. By the way, does it make a difference if you do this before or after migrating the website?

Good point! I'm curious about that too, any insights?

If you're pulling emails from the old POP3, make sure you're using a dedicated app for that. Migration tools like MigrationWiz are great for helping with this! This part doesn’t even involve your website hosting, so keep that in mind.

Just so you know, now you're the sysadmin! Welcome to the club! 😄
