Why does my PC shut off when I lightly tap it?

I've built my PC less than five months ago, and recently, it just shuts off when I give it a gentle tap. I've already reseated all the components and checked for pinched wires, but I'm not sure why this is happening. Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how to troubleshoot this?

Sounds like there might be a loose connection somewhere. Make sure to double-check all your cables, particularly those connected to the power supply. It could also be a faulty PSU, but that's relatively rare.

If you're using any cosmetic cables or adapters for your PSU, try removing those. Sometimes those can cause unexpected issues.

No matter how many times you reseat everything, it still sounds like you have a loose connection. It’s worth checking inside the case or even ensuring the power cable itself isn’t loose. You might want to check for any conductive parts that could be shorting.

I've had similar issues! After I dusted off my rig, I checked everything again and reseated most components. It's easy for something to disconnect slightly, especially if you're moving things around.
