Help Me Choose the Right iPad for My Kid

I'm not the most tech-savvy person and I'm looking to get an iPad for my child so she can stop using my cell phone, which leads to some pretty loud tantrums. She enjoys playing games like Minecraft, MMORPGs, and various cat and wolf games. Will these games work on iPads? What kind of iPad would be best for her? Currently, she's using a phone that's on iOS 26, but I understand that many apps don't support versions lower than iOS 17-19. How can I find out which iPads will support her games before I make a purchase? I'm planning to buy used, so I want to make sure I'm making the right choice.

Based on what you've shared, an iPad with an A16 chip or the 10th generation should do the trick. It's powerful enough for games like Minecraft and other apps she might enjoy. You might also want to think about what other activities she likes to do on your phone that would work well on an iPad. If she’s into YouTube too, that shouldn't be an issue either!

Thanks for the tip! I’m worried about buying refurbished though. Any suggestions on where to look for reliable options?
