Need Help with Overheating Laptop CPU

I have an HP Victus laptop with an Intel i5 14500HX processor, and I'm noticing it runs quite hot, reaching about 72 degrees Celsius even when I'm just browsing the web. I've tried looking into undervolting to reduce the heat, but I can't seem to get that to work properly. I took my laptop to a service center, and they said they fixed the issue, but honestly, nothing has changed. I'm open to any other suggestions on how to lower the temperature.

I'd suggest opening up the back cover and cleaning out the dust, especially around the fans and heatsinks. You might also want to apply some new thermal paste while you're in there. Just a little maintenance can go a long way.

Make sure your laptop's ventilation is not obstructed. Keep it on a flat, hard surface like a table instead of a fabric one, and check your power settings in Windows. Sometimes changing the power plan can help manage heat better.

Blow out any dust from the CPU heatsink and fans with some compressed air. If the fan is revving too much from airflow, try using a zip tie to help regulate it. It’s a quick fix but can sometimes help with cooling.

It's pretty common for HP laptops to run hot, especially under minimal loads. I wouldn't recommend undervolting, mainly because HP usually locks those settings. Instead, try disabling turbo boost or limiting the max frequency. It achieves similar results without messing with the CPU's original design. Also, 72 degrees isn't terrible—it can go as high as 95 before you start seeing throttling.
