I'm looking to make the switch from Windows and need some guidance on where to start. I'm currently stuck with Windows 10 due to limited space, and a recent age verification law in my country has pushed me to consider Linux. I want to prolong my current PC's life while dealing with its performance issues. I'm relatively new to this, so I'm thinking about starting with something user-friendly like ZorinOS to learn the ropes before moving on to a distro that's more gaming-oriented, since gaming takes up most of my PC usage. I know that Proton offers better compatibility with Arch, but that seems quite complex for a beginner. I heard about PikaOS too, but I'm not familiar with it. Can anyone suggest a beginner-friendly distro or one that's good for gaming?

If you're new to Linux, you might want to start with something based on Debian, like Mint or Ubuntu. They have a lot of tutorials and community support. It's always good to try a few distros through live sessions using something like Ventoy, so you can see what fits your needs best without installation. Just keep experimenting until you find the right one!

Sounds like a great idea! Mint and Ubuntu are pretty popular. I'll definitely give them a shot and see how they run.
