Why Are My AirPods Running Out of Battery So Quickly?

I've noticed that my AirPods are draining their battery really fast. Just the other night, I charged them overnight, and they only lasted about 20 minutes before dying. Today, they were at 99% when I started using them, and in just 5 seconds, the right one was already dead. Are my AirPods just too old or broken?

Batteries naturally lose capacity as they age, especially after three years of moderate to heavy use. It’s pretty normal for them to wear out by then. If your batteries are struggling, Apple offers a battery replacement service that might be worth checking out.

I had similar issues with my Generation 2s after almost four years. Ultimately, I decided to buy new ones. Sometimes it's just more practical than dealing with a failing battery.

It sounds like your AirPods might be showing their age. The battery life of devices like these tends to decline over time. If they're getting up there in years, a battery replacement or new AirPods might be what you need.
