I've had my PC for about 5 years and it's been great, but it's starting to struggle with newer games. I've been playing titles like Avowed and Indiana Jones and I've noticed some frame rate drops even at medium settings on 1440p. I'm considering upgrading to a 9070 XT this year, but I can't afford to replace my whole system just yet. My question is, if I install the 9070 XT now and wait a year or two to upgrade my CPU and motherboard, will the performance mismatch be too big? Here are my current specs: Graphics - EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 FTW3 ULTRA, CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Motherboard - MSI AMD MAG B550 TOMAHAWK AM4, RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 3600MHz, SSD - ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro, and PSU - Corsair TX750M 750W 80 Plus Gold. Any thoughts?

I've seen similar setups and honestly, you might experience a small bottleneck, especially in CPU-bound games. But with the 9070 XT, overall frame rates should be a lot better. I would suggest keeping the settings high to push the GPU harder and minimize CPU limitations. It’s a worthy upgrade and should last you until you can update the rest of your system!
It really depends on the games you play, but upgrading to the 9070 XT should still give you a huge boost! I doubt the 5600X will bottleneck it significantly. Just make sure to increase graphics settings to really enjoy the improvement. You'll likely see great performance gains over the 3070, even if there's a bit of a bottleneck in some CPU-heavy games. Go for it!
Totally agree with the others! The 5600X will hold back the 9070 XT in some scenarios, especially in competitive or CPU-heavy games, but for most titles, you're going to notice a significant uptick in performance. Just remember that at higher resolutions like 1440p, the GPU is going to do most of the heavy lifting. You'll be golden!
Exactly, if you're playing games that are more GPU-oriented, you should be just fine. A good idea is to go for settings that elevate GPU usage.
You're looking at a bottleneck for sure, but it's not the end of the world! Focusing on GPU-heavy titles will combat some of that. In the long run, if you can manage a CPU upgrade with a new mobo, you'll really unlock the potential of the 9070 XT. Until then, enjoy your gaming!
I had a 5600X with a similar upgrade path. The 9070 XT will definitely show noticeable improvements in most newer games, but just keep in mind certain titles could still bottleneck due to the CPU. If you're fine waiting a year or two for a full system refresh, the upgrade should serve you well for now!
Plus, you could also consider some smart overclocking on your CPU to squeeze out a bit more performance in the meantime!
