Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on a computer build estimate I got from a shop, given that I have little knowledge about PC components. I am in need of a new PC mainly for streaming using OBS, some gaming (mostly MTG Arena), and, importantly, video editing with DaVinci Resolve. My budget is 3,000 euros, and the shop offered me this build:
- **CPU**: Intel i7 14700KF, 20/28 cores at 5.6GHz
- **GPU**: Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 12GB
- **RAM**: 32GB DDR5, expandable
- **Storage**: 1TB NVMe (Lexar/WD/Samsung/Teamgroup Gen 4)
- **Motherboard**: B760 with WiFi
- **Case**: Lian Li Vector V100
- **Cooling**: Liquid AIO 360mm
- **WiFi**: Si 6E
- **Power Supply**: 750W 80+ Bronze
The total comes to 2,349 euros. I also need two monitors, a mouse, and a keyboard, which they quoted as:
- **Monitors**: 2 Samsung Odyssey G5 27", 2K resolution
- **Peripherals**: Corsair 4-in-1 gaming kit (including keyboard, mouse, mousepad, and headphones)
This brings the final price to 2,920 euros.
I have a few questions:
1) Is this price in line with current market offerings? I noticed a difference of about 200 euros if I were to buy the parts separately, but I don't know how to assemble a PC.
2) Is this build sufficient for handling DaVinci Resolve? Should I be considering any upgrades for specific components? I'd like to do some Fusion work and potentially color grading as I develop my skills.
3) Are the monitors appropriate for editing tasks?
Thanks a ton for any advice you can offer!

I’m baffled as to why it’s 2,300 euros! The shop seems to have a hefty markup. If you check out the prices on PCPartPicker, you can get a competitive build for around 2,800 euros that outperforms this one. Just make sure to go for quality components over flashy ones when picking out parts. The peripherals can be cheap too—you can always upgrade later. Plus, for your monitors, if you're planning to do serious editing, you’ll want ones that handle color accuracy well.
Honestly, I find this build a bit on the pricey side. I totally understand that shops need to make a profit, but around 2,500 euros would feel much more reasonable for what you’re getting. I’d actually suggest steering clear of the 14th-gen Intel chips—check out AMD’s offerings like the 9700X or 9950X instead, especially if you're working with high-demand software. A quote for 'some' SSD isn’t very informative, so that’s a red flag too! They should specify which model they’re using.
Thanks for the insight! I’ll definitely consider going for AMD and will ask for clearer info on the SSD options when I talk to the shop.
The pricing does seem a bit high. I’m not familiar with specific prices in Italy, but this build might be a slight overcharge. If I were in your position, I’d aim for a 13/14th-gen Intel or even an AMD option. You should really research how these CPUs perform with video editing software too, since that’s your primary goal. Just keep in mind that while Intel isn’t bad, AMD might give you better value for money right now.
I hear you! It shouldn’t be more than 1,800 euros for that build. They must be quoting higher-end components to inflate the price.

Really helpful, thanks! I’m looking for options from other shops as well. I’m still not comfortable assembling everything myself for my first PC, but I’ll definitely keep learning for the next one.
