Hi everyone! I'm looking for some guidance on building a high-end gaming PC that I hope will last for at least the next decade. My current setup has been pretty decent for casual games like Stardew Valley, but I'm ready to tackle newer titles such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the FF remakes, and the upcoming Fable remake.
Here's what I've got so far and what I'm aiming for:
1. I have an RTX 5070 Ti that I got at MSRP, and while I considered returning it, I decided to keep it for now.
2. I want a build that can manage 4K gaming. Is it feasible without going for the 5090? I know SLI seems to be less common nowadays.
3. I also do some photo and video editing, so I need something that handles those tasks smoothly.
4. I prefer parts that are user-friendly for future upgrades, as I'm a bit anxious about building again after a long break, but I'm excited to learn!
5. I've noticed a lack of horizontal case options. If you have suggestions similar to the Cooler Master HAF XB EVO, I'd love to hear them.
6. RGB isn't my style; I'm looking for something with either white LED or no lights at all.
7. I'd like to stick with air cooling due to the cost of components and potential leaks.
8. Planning to connect this to a 77" LG C5 OLED TV temporarily until I can get a dedicated monitor—will this setup take advantage of the TV's features like VRR?
9. Lastly, I'm interested in any recommendations for sound cards or streaming gear since I plan to watch media on this computer before setting up a dedicated server.

For a high-end build, definitely consider switching to the AMD platform—it's more future-proof and has excellent performance for both gaming and editing. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D would be a solid choice. It's also worth looking into the Be Quiet Light Base cases; they have great airflow and can be mounted horizontally. Plus, you might want to drop down to a 1200W PSU, as 1500W is likely overkill unless you're planning on some serious upgrades in the future.
