Hey everyone,
I'm looking for some advice! I used to work for a US startup, and they've offered me the chance to buy my work MacBook Air M2 for around 2000 PLN (about $540). From what I've seen, a brand new one with similar specs costs about 9000 PLN here in Poland.
Just to give you the specifics, this MacBook Air is a 13" model with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. It has 186 battery cycles and 86% battery health. I'm the second person to use it, and it's in great shape with no issues.
I mainly use a desktop PC daily, so I'd only use the MacBook occasionally when I travel or visit family, looking for something better than my phone. I could find ways to use it more often, but since I'm unsure about keeping it, I haven't been using it much yet.
Do you think paying this amount for it is worth it, or should I pass?

You brought up some good points, and I'd say pass. The MacBook Air really isn’t the best for heavy use. If it were a MacBook Pro, I’d say consider it, but the Air? Not really worth the price for occasional use. You could find something cheaper that fits your needs better, like a ThinkPad.
Honestly, it sounds like a solid deal for a laptop that could last you a few more years. Sure, it might need a battery replacement down the line, but if you find it useful, it might be worth the investment. If you're unsure about keeping it, you could always resell it for a bit more later on. Just remember to think about how often you'll actually use it!

That's true! I mainly need it for lighter tasks while traveling, so I'm not sure a Pro would be necessary. Maybe I could grab this one, and if I don't use it enough, I could resell it later for close to what I paid.
