However, I'm feeling a bit lost right now. I had around 6 months of computer science in high school, then I was in a vocational program for about a year focused on software development, but I couldn't complete it due to family financial issues. Currently, I'm working a labor job on an on-call basis, but I've been learning frontend development in my spare time. I hesitate to apply for jobs because I lack confidence in my skills, especially since many require a degree. I'm curious if anyone else has been in a similar situation. Can I still build a career in tech without finishing school? While I agree that having a college degree isn't mandatory, a high school diploma is usually necessary. If you’re in the US, remote work opportunities are quite competitive right now.
