I have an issue with my Exchange 2016 server where the services aren't starting. The only changes made recently were the installation of a couple of updates: KB5049233 for Exchange 2016 CU23, and KB5055521 and KB5055170 for Windows. When I check the event logs, I see a .NET Runtime error 1026, indicating that the Microsoft.Exchange.Directory.TopologyService.exe process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. I'm looking for any help or suggestions to resolve this issue.

I get how frustrating this can be. If you're still having trouble, check if Exchange Server 2016 appears in the add/remove programs section. If it doesn't show up, there may be a problem with the installation that needs addressing. It might also help to search for issues similar to yours on the Microsoft Community Hub; you're likely to find someone else with the same problem.
Have you tried disabling the Windows Firewall? Sometimes it can interfere with services starting up. After you turn it off, see if the service starts properly. If it does, you can enable the firewall again after. Also, ensure that your Exchange Server has access to the Domain Controller—it’s crucial for its operations.
