I'm looking to build a gaming PC that can handle esports games at 1440p with max settings and get around 240 FPS. I also want it to run demanding AAA titles at approximately 80 FPS at the same resolution without relying on any AI upscaling technology. My main goal is to maximize performance for my budget while keeping it slightly future-proof for small upgrades. I'll mostly use it for gaming, including both esports and modern AAA titles, and I might have a few background apps like Discord open, but no streaming or heavy content creation. I'm aiming for a budget of about 3000 Euros, excluding peripherals, and I live in Norway.

Here’s a build you can check out: https://no.pcpartpicker.com/list/KBx9W9. It includes a solid 1440p gaming monitor too, which fits your budget. The 9070 XT will give you great performance, and you should be able to handle those frame rates you're looking for!
This looks like a good plan, I'm actually considering a similar build myself for later!
Hitting 240 FPS at 1440p without upscaling can be tough, especially on ultra settings. But if you're open to using DLSS, you could really boost your frame rates. Just remember, it’s not without a trade-off—frame generation can introduce latency and some visual artifacts, but a well-tuned setup can minimize those. I’ve seen people push 240 FPS in competitive games with high-end cards like the 3080 or the 7900 XTX, so it's not out of reach!
True, but for hardcore esports, even a split-second delay matters. That’s probably why this guy is skipping upscaling.
I’ve managed to hit 240Hz at 1440p ultra with my 7900XTX in certain games, so it’s definitely doable!
Check out this link for a good build: https://no.pcpartpicker.com/list/vB98K7. It has everything you'll need, and you can swap the case as you like. You’ll likely need a BIOS update for the motherboard, but it shouldn’t be too tricky. Plus, there's room in your budget for a more powerful GPU if you want!
With around 3000 Euros, you can easily hit 240+ FPS in esports titles. Just remember, modern AAA games usually won’t hit those frame rates unless you’re using something like Nvidia's Frame Generation tech. For the CPU, consider something like the Ryzen 9 7900X3D—great for those high refresh rates. And make sure you're using decent RAM; DDR5 is pricey but worth it. Also, don’t skimp on the PSU—go for a certified unit!
Just a heads up, some builds might perform better on AMD than Nvidia these days—especially with FSR.
Just a note: running at max settings can waste performance without giving you much of a visual upgrade. If you’re okay with adjusting some settings a bit, even a mid-range GPU like the 5070 can handle your targets. You could definitely save some cash there!
Exactly! Finding that perfect balance is key.

Are you sure the 9070 XT can really run at those settings? Because I’m intrigued!
