Hey everyone! I'm working on a school project where I'm setting up a network for a doctor's office. At home, I have two virtual machines running: one is a Windows 10 client and the other is a Windows Server 2022 acting as a DHCP server. The issue I'm facing is that my router is assigning an IP address to my client PC instead of my Windows Server. The server detects it and logs the entry with DNS, but it isn't providing an IP. I prefer not to mess with my router settings too much. Is there a way to prioritize the Windows Server in this setup?

Having two DHCP servers on the same network can lead to confusion since they both can respond to broadcast requests. Generally, it's best to stick with a single DHCP server in simpler setups. You can use either your router or the server itself; just pick one to avoid conflicts.
Exactly! If you really need two, consider setting them up in active/passive mode to manage requests without overlapping.
